There are a lot of really good answers here. Millions of jobs will be lost in that industry and retirement pensions will be lost as well. But the problem is caused by the car companies themselves. They have failed to offer the public good, dependable cars that are mechanically efficient and last a long time. My family has a Toyota, a Nissan and a Honda and all of these vehicles are much better and more dependable than those of our own auto manufacturers; esp. General Motors.
