Patients with the biological potential to have a child should be using an effective method of birth control while taking naltrexone. However, if they miss a menstrual period, they should report this to their medical clinician at once and take a pregnancy test. If a patient becomes pregnant, she will discontinue the medication. The medical clinician should continue to ask after her health throughout her pregnancy as well as the health of her baby after delivery.
