What will happen at my 10 weeks prenatal check-up?
If they did not give you a pelvic exam at your first appointment, they will most likely do that at your next one. I remember most of the appointments after that involved going in and giving a urine sample, them taking my weight (booo the worst part! haha), blood pressure, and then the doctor would come in and listen to my belly with a stethoscope (sp?), and then with his magic little sonar device that let me hear the baby’s heartbeat. At the very first appointment, which I had at around 8 weeks or so, he also used this giant wand during the pelvic exam to peer inside at the embryo because I was having some pain (it felt as though I had a bladder infection, but it was simply a small cyst that formed and went away, not totally uncommon but he just wanted to check).
