ORIGINAL STORY Multiple media outlets are reporting that West Virginia University assistant coach John “Doc” Holliday is headed to Huntington to interview for the Marshall head coaching position. Holliday, a West Virginia native, is expected to meet with Marshall athletic director Mike Hamrick Wednesday and Thursday. If all goes according to Hamrick’s plan, a deal can be finalized and a contract signed, making Holliday the newest head coach of the Thundering Herd. Holliday was expected to be named WVU’s head coach in 2008, but signed on as an assistant after Bill Stewart got the job.
