What will be the validity of ‘Hungarian Residence Permit’?
The duration of Residence Permit is decided by the Hungarian Immigration Police. If your ‘Hungarian Residence Permit’ application is approved, you will be granted the renewable, multiple entry ‘Residence Permit’ for ‘One Year’. Ten weeks prior to the ‘expiry date’ of the ‘Residence Permit’, it can be applied for renewal while you are in Hungary. There will be two further renewals in the next five years. On each renewal, the ‘Residence Permit’ will be granted for ‘Two Years’. We will explain the renewal technicalities at appropriate time as required. After five years of ‘continuous stay’ in Hungary as a ‘Hungarian Residence Permit’ holder, you will become eligible to apply for the ‘Permanent Residence Permit’, which will be granted for rest of your life and require no further renewals thereafter.
The duration of ‘residence permit’ is solely decided by the Office of Immigration and Nationality, Budapest. If your ‘residence permit application’ is approved, you will be granted renewable, multiple entry residence permit for ‘One Year’. Ten weeks prior to the expiry date of the residence permit, it can be applied for renewal while you are in Hungary. The residence permit should be renewed every year and on each renewal, it will be granted for 12 months. We will explain the renewal procedure at appropriate time. After 5 years of continuous stay in Hungary as a residence permit holder, you will become eligible to apply for the ‘Permanent Residence Permit’ (PR), which will be granted for rest of your life and require no further renewals thereafter.
