What will be the total student capacity at the new Indian Trail?
Indian Trail Academy’s current capacity is approximately 1,200 students. It is a choice school, open to all grade 9-12 students in the District, and provides four unique academies or “schools within a school”. The existing building does not provide Academy students with “traditional” high school facilities such as a competition sized gym, athletic fields, and a performing arts center/auditorium. Academy students who wish to participate in competitive athletics or performing arts do so at either Bradford or Tremper High Schools. The Academy program will remain open and continue to serve students at the expanded Indian Trail High School. The expansion is designed to house an additional 1,500 students in a more traditional grade 9-12 setting. Attendance will be determined by neighborhood boundaries; just like Bradford and Tremper high schools are today. The combined total student capacity for the expanded Indian Trail is approximately 2,700.
