The number of elected councillors will decrease overall – a new Cheshire West Council will have 72 councillors the Cheshire East 81 councillors. Overall there will be a reduction of about half the councillors from the existing seven authorities. Each authority will have a cabinet system with portfolios aligned to priorities.
