A full ecological impact assessment has been submitted as part of the application. Great Crested Newts have been recorded in ponds adjacent, though not within, the site and the site itself may provide some habitat for newts. In line with the ecological advice, the scheme indicates substantial mitigation and habitat compensation proposals to ensure that there will be no negative ecological impact resulting from proposals to develop the site. The resultant new protected habitat will be of benefit both to the Great Crested Newts as well as other local wildlife.
