What will be the impact of CCM on Lutheran communion worldwide?
Adopting CCM will have no adverse impact upon ELCA s relations with the worldwide Lutheran communion. In fact, it may strengthen ELCA s relations with those Lutheran churches that possess historic episcopate. These include, Church of Sweden, Church of Finland, and Lutheran churches in Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia. Elsewhere, Tamil Lutheran Church in India, the Lutheran Church of Zimbabwe, the Lutheran Church in Tanzania, the Lutheran Church in Malaysia and Singapore, and the Lutheran Synod of Salvador maintains historic episcopate. ELCA will continue to relate with partner churches overseas and the Lutheran World Federation in the same way as before, even if CCM is adopted.
