What will be the impact of ARWA on the education system?
A. ARWA scientists will train postgraduates and assist in the teaching of undergraduates. Curtin, Murdoch and The University of Western Australia will each retain their involvement in the sector – both individually as providers of undergraduate coursed and – through ARWA – as providers of research and post-graduate training. Researchers from the Department of Agriculture and Food will join those from the universities in supervising postgraduate students. They may also assist in the design and delivery of undergraduate courses. ARWA will ensure that research training is focused on the needs of the agricultural sector and that teaching programs are appropriately aligned. Our teaching and training will provide the sector with the most relevant suite of economic, managerial and scientific skills needed to lead, drive and support it into the future.
