What will be the actual cause of metastasized lung cancer?
ShortBoy on May 26th, 2010 at 10:19 pm metastatic lung disease, can be the primary source of the cancer or can be the secondary source.meaning that the cancer came from some where else first(like breast cancer) then traveled through the lymph node system to the lungs.if this was the primary source of the cancer(first source) then it could have metastasized to another place like the bones. either way your sister got the lung cancer will cause difficulty breathing, needing oxygen, maybe starting off only sometimes, but as the disease progress may become oxygen dependent.at the end stage of lung cancer , pleural Effusion occurs(water filled lungs) the doctor may have to draw out that excess water by a pleural tap or lung tap.some people develop malignant pleural Effusion, meaning there is no stopping the development of the water filled lungs causing severe shortness of breath. a permanent catheter sometimes is placed in to the lungs, that can drain the excess lung fluid as needed. taz on
