What will be taught in the Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program?
The goals of the Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program are to provide participants with the theoretical background, introductory technical skills and specialized knowledge required to gain employment with a municipal or tribal police officer, or other municipal, provincial or federal law enforcement agency. The Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program is a blend of theory and applied learning. Students will develop the fundamental knowledge and competencies required to prepare for application to a professional police or other law enforcement agency. In the Diploma, the majority of learning will focus on the application of knowledge and skills, analysis of unique problems, how synthesis of knowledge is applied to problem solving, and the evaluation of data, methods and results. Integrated into portions of the curriculum will be an emphasis on psychomotor skills, their proper use and application in specific situations.
