What will be different at Tisch Hospital after the project is completed?
Once the work is done, we will have dramatically improved the patient experience and repositioned Tisch Hospital as a focal point for patient care that is both efficient and compassionate. The new elevator bank will make accessing the upper floors faster and more pleasant, and ease congestion in the lobby. Intended for public use, the four new elevators will run like express cars, skipping floors 2 through 7 and heading straight to the inpatient floors 8 through 17. Staff will be encouraged to use the existing eight elevators, which will reduce crowding and improve overall traffic flow. The inpatient floors will also gain more comfortable public and private meeting spaces adjacent to the new elevators. Lobby amenities include more open space and light, as well as a new Family Resource Center, which will be a convenient hub for patient- and family-centered amenities including concierge services, and rooms for private consultations with physicians or counselors.
