What will areas of green space be restored to and how big will they be?
We will restore large areas of Cornish native woodland and heathland: up to 500 hectares within the Eco-town itself, and potentially other areas outside of this that are within Imerys’ ownership. We already have examples of the type of landscape restoration that we will undertake: our award-winning heathland and woodland projects, developed in partnership with Natural England, Cornwall Council and Forestry Commission, have already shown how we can successfully re-create a Cornish landscape and the site at Caerloggas Downs, next to the proposed Baal Eco-town site, is a great example of what we can achieve.
