What will a blood test tell a doctor about my low weight?
he can tell by looking at you that you dont eat! he can tell if your potassium and sodium levels are ok (you can have a heart attack and end up like Terri schiavo otherwise) and he can tell if your liver is functioning etc. however, with messed up electrolytes he can tell if you have likely been puking etc. he will also be able to tell your weight loss is not due to infection.
They will be testing it to see if there is any underlying cause for your low weight. I am very thin also and have had numerous test to see if there is anything wrong medically however they have never found anything wrong, I eat normally and it seems I am just prone to be thin like some people are prone to be fat.
