What/Who is an Apollite, and why are they hunted/hated?
Apollites are a race of psychic beings who were created by Apollo. They were his favored people until their queen became jealous and ordered the murder of Apollo’s mistress who was human and their son. Angry and hurt, Apollo (who is also the god of plague and peistilence) cursed the Apollites. Since the Apollites tried to make it appear that a wild animal had killled his beloved mistress and son, he essentially made them wild animals. They can no longer eat food, but must drink each other’s blood to survive. He gave them the fangs and eyes of an animal as well. But the worst part of the curse is that they can only live 27 years (the age his mistress was when she died). On the hour of their birth, they begin to slowly age and decompose over a 24 hour perod. It is slow and extremely painful for them. To escape that fate, many Apollites choose to either kill themselves or they start taking human souls into their bodies to prolong their lives. When they do this, they are known as Daimons.
