What were the Top Ten reasons for supporting the Rec Center Expansion?
1. Students will not have to pay the fee increase until the facility opens. 2. The Recreation Center will remain open during construction, although the entrance may change and some components will be offline during the expansion. 3. Total square footage of usable space will double in size 4. Air conditioning is planned for high demand areas where a comfortable temperature cannot be maintained by natural air flow. 5. The weight/exercise room will triple in size. 6. A two-court gym (for basketball, volleyball, etc.) will be added. 7. A multipurpose activity center (MAC) for indoor soccer, floor hockey, concerts and events will be added. 8. A leisure pool will be added 9. Three existing Sports Complex fields will be converted to synthetic turf 10. Students will not pay the Student Union fee increase of $65 per quarter until the renovation/expansion is completed.
