What were the ties between Britain and the colonies between 1762 and the Boston Tea Party?
Following the 7-years war from 1754 and 1763, Americans began to reexamine their ties with Britain. Britain lost large amounts of money in the way, and as Britain saw the American colonies as a way to gain revenue for the mother country, they employed the policies of mercantilism in the colonies. Specifically, the colonies produced raw materials and sold the majority of them to Britain, where they were manufactured, and bought back the manufactured goods at inflated prices, thus earning a large margin for Britain.
