What were the religious reasons for banning interracial marriages?

There are alot of religions in the world – I’m sure that some have within their teachings a ban on interracial marriages. I am a follower of Christ. There is no biblical reason to ban interracial marriage. In the Old Testament, Hebrews only married Hebrews. It was for the purpose of marrying someone who also was raised with the same emphasis on relationship with God. That lesson does carry over to the New Testament – we are not to be unequally yoked. That means that a Christian should marry another Christian who is called by God to be yoked to them, so a Christian woman who is called by God to be a piano player in church in Iowa should not marry a Christian men who is called by God to be a missionary in south Florida. One or both of them would not reach their full potential. People today do not follow the plan for marriage that God gave us. That is why there is so much divorce today even amongst believers. Too much conformity to the world.

Only idiotic atheists believe that religion bans interracial marriages. If you’re a smart atheist, you know that most theists do NOT have a problem with IR marriage.

There are no religious reasons for banning interracial marriages. Only stupid, insensitive preconceived ideas.
