What were the objectives of the EU FP6 Integrated Projects Pico-Inside & NaPa?
Pico-Inside: In the IST priority 2 of the FP6 (Emerging Nanoelectronics FET proactive initiative), the Pico-Inside consortium explored Atomic Scale Technology with the final goal of integrating a complex logic gate inside a single molecule. Creating an Atomic Scale Technology is now a necessity for any uni-molecular device and machine in molecular electronics, molecular mechanics, molecular transducers and for laboratory scale experiments on one molecule / http://www.picoinside.org Napa: The Emerging Nanopatterning Methods (NaPa) consortium integrated the new patterning methods into one project, both anticipating and responding to the increasing need for technologies, standards and metrology required to harness the new application-relevant properties of engineered structures with nm-scale features.
