Its not a case of what were the long term effects of the Asian Tsunami, its ‘What are the long term effects of the Asian Tsunami?’. Many people are still trying to rebuild their communities after the tragic event. Tourism has been greatly affected by the Tsunami and food stocks have had to be restored. i.e. rice fields etc. You also have to look at the effects on biodiversity. Habitats would have been destroyed and many animals species now have a reduced population. The tsunami would have affected the local economy also.
