What were the best rap songs in 1992?
I can tell you what was playing on the radio, and what we were listening to, but it may have come out earlier or a little later. Dre & Snoop’s first album, the Chronic was big, as well as Snoop’s first solo album, Doggystyle was HUGE! Tribe called quest came out with Electric Relaxation I think in ’93, I dug that a lot. Digable Planets first album, probably one of my favorites of all time. Too Short, Grand Puba, Cypress Hill At our dances they’d play Jump by criss kross, OPP, Jump around by House of Pain, Sweat (stupid dance song), can’t think of much more. I was a casual rap listener, was more into jazz and kinda out of touch with music at the time. Got exposed to that stuff from my friends mainly. Also, would like to add Beastie Boys made a HUGE comeback that year. People for the most part thought they dropped out of the scene and were one album wonders.
