What were the advantages of using X-ray in WORLD WAR 1?
As well as helping medics heal wounded soldiers in a more effective manner, the Triple Entente used the X-ray to examine the corpses of what were named “Giant Trench Rats”. It seemed that in an astoundingly short time rats that lived on the Western Front were able to develop a unique organ in the neck called a “pelogranarian gland”. This gland effected the brain in a way that caused increased aggression and caused the rats to drastically increase in size. We know little else about this gland, and it has not been found in any other mammal besides the Giant Trench Rat (which is know extinct). With the X-ray, scientists in New York and London were examine and replicate the effects of the pelogranarian gland in normal rats.
