What Were The 10 Plagues Of Passover?
The 10 Passover Plagues (Exodus 7:14 – Exodus 12:42) served as a statement by G-d to the Egyptians that G-d’s power was far greater than any of their G-ds. To demonstrate this, G-d unleashed the following 10 Plagues on Pharaoh and the Egyptian people in order to teach them lessons in humanity. All except the 3rd, 6th, and 9th plagues were announced to the Pharaoh by Moses on orders from G-d: • Passover Plague #1: Blood – G-d transformed the water in the Nile River into a river of blood for 7 days, causing the death of fish and leaving the Egyptians with undrinkable water. (Exodus 7:14-25) • Passover Plague #2: Frogs – G-d created a swarm of frogs that came up out of the Nile river and covered the land of Egypt, infesting Egyptian houses.
