What were some results of the tennis court oath?
The biggest result of the Tennis Court Oath is that it took power away from royalty and nobles, and put it into the hands of the educated bourgeoisie. They swore to stay together until they had given France it’s first written constitution. France had never had a written constitution- all ruling was done by the whims of the king in charge- and that led to things being passed and revoked (Edict of Nantes). France did get a constitution, and a revolution that killed tens of thousands. France never again had a totalitarian regime- even Bonaparte was limited in his power.
