There were 3 main political changes. First, and most importantly, England became a Constitutional Monarchy, the King’s power being severely limited by Act of Parliament. Laws had to be passed by both Houses of Parliament, not just decreed by the King.Only Parliament had the power to raise money through taxation (of any kind).The king could not dissolve Parliament, both Houses remaining in session unless they declared a recess or an election was due (there had to be an election at least once every 7 years).Parliament decided when elections were held, not the King.
