This important and revealing study is commonly known as the Ottaviani Intervention and is often cited by many who promote the Tridentine Rite of Mass. What is not well known, is the fact that this study was actually commissioned by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, who assembled a group of 12 theologians from Rome and wrote it under his direction.
