What were some geographical differences between the north and the south in the civil war?

The north was more industrialized with factories and technology. The south was more of a plain-filled farm land area with less technology, but more agriculture. Forests were a bit more prevalent, considering the north was spreading out more and destroying forest land. Also, rivers are much more common in the south, where the north has more lakes.
