What went wrong with the trading with the Native Americans?
Times have changed. They really didn’t care about any trinkets we had to offer. In the 1600’s, the beads and cloth and metal ax heads we had would have been incredibly valuable. To the Native Americans of today, it was really more important for them to drive a hard bargain than to trade. But we want to be sure to express gratitude to our good friend, John Bear Mitchell, for his help, concern, and friendship. We continue to keep in touch.
