What went wrong at the Academy Connection launch?
We know the rollout of the new Academy Connection site has created much frustration and additional workload for many of our Academy Community over the past months. We believed that after 2 years of planning and 12 weeks of functional testing, that the system was ready to launch. Despite the planning, the performance and load testing were not properly configured to predict the usage of the site. As a result, we didn’t accurately predict the support that would be needed. In order to be safe rather than sorry, we have disabled functionality to minimise the impact on performance and to stabilise the site. We will continue to be extremely conservative in the coming weeks as we reintroduce functionality to the site, to ensure we do not jeopardise performance and stability.
