What went into the design of Chronos?
The short answer is many things! Chronos is a short exercise providing the foundation for further layers of learning about sustainable development. It is versatile, and can be blended with other learning initiatives inside the company and used to reinforce the company’s principles, policies and practices. Chronos is: • Learner-focused. Chronos values personal initiative above expert ‘answers’; experience above memorisation. Learners are invited to reflect upon personal experiences, explore situations and experiment with decisions. • Challenging. Chronos highlights the positive opportunities for individuals and companies to contribute to society and create business value. But it doesn’t avoid drawing connections between corporate activities and global problems where important learning will result. • Inclusive. Chronos is inspired by a wide range of voices, both business and non-business. Sustainable development is a subjective issue and we welcome the diversity of opinion which exists.
