What website can i use to trace my family tree?
If you think Ancestry is rubbish then you are clearly doing it wrong or have completely unrealistic expectations of how family history research works and how difficult and time consuming it can be. What genuinely worries me is that there are people walking around the UK today who believe that you can go into Somerset House in London (a place that has not existed for a good many years now by the way) and some guy will bring up your complete family tree in a file from the basement. These same people probably believe that you can enter your name into the search engine of a website and also be presented with your complete family tree on a plate. The system of course doesn’t work like that. The reason why you won’t find your own, your parents or any other living relatives details online can be summed up in three words – the “Data Protection Act”.
