What weapons were used in the first battle of marne?
Tanks were not used in the First Battle of the Marne, they were a weapon created to try and break the trench systems that had been formed after the Marne. Poison gas, also, was not used. The first use of poison gas was in 1915 at Ypres, Belgium. The weapons predominantly used in the First Battle of the Marne were bolt action rifles, I can not find what the French used but it was probably a bolt action rifle, and the Germans used the Mauser Gewehr 98. While both sides had machine guns, it is unlikely that they were of great importance for the battle as machine guns of the time required a team of men to an them, and were best used in defensive tactics, but the battle did last a few days, so they could have been employed in he battle.
