What weapons (if any) did medieval queens and kings use?
Medieval kings often led armies into battle, and they would usually use a sword. Queens sometimes fought in battles too, and the sword would be their usual weapon. Foot soldiers might use a pike (a sort of spear), or a halberd (a battle axe) or they might be archers, but a king or queen would normally be on horseback, and I would think a sword would be the most practical weapon in those circumstances.
