What weaknesses do vampires have?
In TOD, the writers often played around with the vampire mythos where it best suited a story. However certain weaknesses were generally used as follows: Holy symbols- vampires are repulsed by holy symbols of all faiths however some are more effective than others. For example, Dracula was once repelled by a Star of David but the cross is more effective while a crucifix is even more so. Holy Water- Holy water burns Dracula as acid would a normal person. Daylight- if exposed to daylight, vampires will eventually burn to dust. Wood- wooden stakes will kill a vampire if the vampire’s heart is pierced. Silver- silver can harm a vampire. However the silver must pierce the vampire’s heart to kill it. Magic- magic spells can affect vampires. For example, a practictioner of voodoo once slew a vampire by piercing a voodoo doll with a pin. Also, Earth’s Sorceror Supreme, Stephen Strange was able to cast spells on Dracula.
