What was wrong with the Triceratops in Jurassic Park?
The dinosaur exhibited symptoms of Meliatoxicity, but Dr. Sattler couldn’t find any traces of the berries in the dung pile. Shortly after that, they found large smooth stones and realized that the triceratops, having no teeth, swallowed the stones to use them as a gizzard (to grind food). About every six weeks, the stones would become smooth and the dinosaur would have to regurgitate the smooth stones and swallow new rough stones. They found undigested poisonous berries with the regurgitated stones.
