What was wrong with the old covenant?
Notice that the fault of the first covenant was with the people, not with the law (and hence not with God who gave the law). They did not continue in it. In fact the new covenant would be better, not because of a different law, but because of a different place for it to be written in the hearts of the people. Looking back at what happened we can see what the Lord was talking about through Jeremiah and Paul. Did the people accept the first covenant?
