What was witches effect on the elizabethan era?
Very little. Witches as we know them today did not exist to the best of our knowledge at that time. Nothing that resembles modern witchcraft was provably known to exist at the time. There were laws against the craft, but the kinds of people that fell victim to these laws, were generally unliked or anti-social in their communities. “Witches” at that time were a largely unconnected group of people that would perform a mix of the following services: divination, cursing and curse removal, natural healing, scrying, etc. Though there were people who were tried and punished for practicing witchcraft in the Elizabethan Era, it had little effect on the era overall. If you were one of the ones who were punished it was kind of a big deal, but generally speaking there was a lot that happened in that era that was much more significant overall.
