Just like Wednesday, a strong line of thunderstorms that blew through Dallas-Fort Worth this morning fizzled as it approached the Houston area, breaking apart into some scattered showers around the area, particularly the northern parts, then fading away. By 2:15 p.m. the local radar was clear, although pop-up showers later are possible. Rain chances increase to 30 percent Friday, when the high temperature should top out at about 95 degrees and the low will be about 80. Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach the mid-90s with lows near 80. Saturday should be dry, but a slight chance of rain returns Sunday and early next week.
