Can’t say Roosevelt because the question is then asked which President Roosevelt, Teddy or FDR. Both Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt served as US President. And it was FDR who is best known for being in a wheelchair due to his polio (although in 2003 a group of doctors claimed it was actually Guillain-Barré syndrome) which he contracted in 1921, though he did everything he could to hide it from the American public for fear it would make him look weak. There are terribly few pictures of him in a wheelchair, you’d see him from the waist up, seated in a normal chair, or standing leaning on someone or some thing. This photo (http://www.fdrlibrary.marist.edu/images/… is one of the rare photos of him in a wheelchair.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was probably a victim of polio. He served his entire term in a wheelchair a fact kept secret from the public at large. Most folks never knew he was disabled.
