What was the the star and moon all about last night?
Not a star, it was the planet Venus. And it wasn’t about anything – it was simply that Venus and the crescent moon appeared very close to each other (as they did at the end of November, December, and January). This happens about every year and a half for a few months, when Venus is particularly bright in the western sky around sunset and the moon is just past new moon.
