Google “History of England” to fill in the details, but the overview is: Ancient – at some time in the distant, distant past the ancestors of the Picts came to the island we call “Britain.” Not much is known is about their culture & politics, but the did leave behind some interesting stone carving. After them the various Celtic tribes, like the Belgae and Trinvantians arrived. They had a tribal structure that would survive (somewhat) in the Clans of Scotland and Ireland. Fairly close behind them were the Romans. The Romano-Britons were a facinating amalgamation. Their political structure was much like their parent, Rome. Too much has been written elsewhere for it to be worth me writing it again here. Dark Ages – no such thing. See my answer here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;… Early Middle Ages – at the request of the Briton
