What was the significance of the artist-in-residence program?
The significance of the artist-in-residence program was that it provided Nebraska the unique opportunity of meeting the artists, discussing their sculptures for Nebraska as well as other works, their philosophies about sculpture and their profession, and the opportunity to watch some of the work necessary to complete such sculpture. This interchange provided Nebraskans the opportunity to learn more about sculpture, and also provided the sculptors the opportunity to learn more about Nebraska.
