The Sepoy rebellion was set off between the British and the Indians. Indian soldiers that worked for the British during the British rule were known as the sepoys. When British started to advance on their technology, they came up with new riffle carriages. There was no problem with these carriages. They were faster and would shoot better. The only thing was, to make it fire, it had to be greased with animal fat. It is against the hindu religion to eat or taste any kind of animal. When they requested the British to use another riffle, their was no. The British forced the Indians to fire, and when they didn’t, the British got mad. One Indian stood out (Mangal Pandey) and revolted. The Indians succeeded, but had to pay for their action by fighting over seas (againt Hindu religion). This is known as the Sepoy rebellion. So basically, riffle carriages greased with animal fat set out the Sepoy Rebellion!
