Mollie represented the richer classes of Russian society. Her ribbons and sugar represent the luxuries the Bourgeoisie of Russia had before the rebellion. After, when they lost those luxuries, they fled west. THe Burgeoisie weren’t exactly the upper classes, but they were the merchants who made fortunes that were in danger from the Revolution.
