What was the relationship between the Youth Steering Group and the citizenship work which was done in Schools?
Cllr Pattie explained that the Youth Steering Group was part of the Community Partnership. Young people who wanted to become more involved were encouraged to do so through the Youth Focus Group. Citizenship lessons were useful as through the lessons young people were able to influence local decision making. Transport and Traffic Cllr Mrs Halstead asked: Whether the Petersfield to Midhurst cycle route would be safeguarded, even though West Sussex had been unable to find sufficient resources? Cllr Mrs Standen explained that West Sussex County Council had been uncooperative. Cllr Glasgow added that he had been told by West Sussex County Council that they considered the new National Park would be better placed to deal with this. Corporate Services In response to a question Cllr Johnson explained that the new arrangements for calculation of bank and locally agreed holidays had been put in place as some part time staff had previously been disadvantaged.
