What was the rationale for the London listing?
Central to achieving Investec’s mission at the time to become one of the world’s leading specialist banking groups, the group sought to obtain a listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The London listing should therefore benefit the group by increasing its global profile, enhancing its capital raising ability and improving access to international capital markets. This will, in turn, enhance Investec’s ability to grow and develop its Southern African and other businesses.
