Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland back in 1865 and his words were beyond imagination. Shrinking people, tea parties, Alice and dissapearing cats. He was a very imaginative man. But in some ways, not so much. A quick read though Alice in Wonderland tells us that the name for the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland was simply The White Rabbit. It does make sense. You could expect perhaps a more profound name for a rabbit but I guess Hoppity or Speed just would not cut it. So there you go folks. Your question has been answered.
