What was the process of converting AVCHD to a format that will allow Vegas Pro 9 to run faster?
Since AVCHD footage puts so much strain on your computer, many people transcode their footage to another format that can be edited more efficiently. To do this, add your AVCHD footage to the timeline and choose File | Render As. Then select the file format and template that you want to render to. For instance, Sony HD MXF files work well. Use a template that matches the frame size and framerate of your source files. Then add the rendered files to the timeline and use those to edit your project. Another approach is to render your AVCHD files to a widescreen standard-definition DV file, use those DV files to edit your project, and when you’re done editing, use the Project Media window to replace the DV clips with the original AVCHD clips. Then render your project for final delivery. Or, get a faster computer with a 64-bit operating system and lots of processor cores and RAM and edit using the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro!
