What was the outcome of the French Revolution?
The outcome of the French revolution was the first French Republic in 1792. This Republic was failing by 1799 and Napoleon intervened on 18 Brumaire and saved the republic from collapse. Once Napoleon was in control he rebuilt the French economy and began reforms, expanding the infrastructure, opening public schools, reforming the military, creating a civil code, and negotiating a concordat with the pope were only a few of his achievements. By 1804 he was so popular that a plebiscite was held to decide whether he should be crowned emperor of the French, to which the public greatly approved.
